  42. special hardware on the ST (Discovery Cartridge).

  60. The Atari ST has a fairly decent color monitor (for its price), and
  61. resembles CGA in its resolution (640x200x16 colors).  Is this monitor
  62. electrically compatible with CGA?  If any netlanders have tried it I'd
  63. be curious to find out what you need... I have both machines, with
  64. monochrome on the clone and color on the ST, but occasionally would
  65. like color on the clone.  Thanks,

  126. When the ST puts up those cute little cherry bombs, it also writes out the
  127. error number and register dump (and I think part of the stack) to an area in
  128. memory which can survive a reset.  There is a program in the archives called
  129. POSTMORT which will access this memory, tell you in English what the errors
  130. were, display the registers, etc.  It also comes with a set of short binaries
  131. to generate most of the errors.

  165. If this is the same monitor which was being sold under the Commodore
  166. nameplate as the 1084 for a while, it is junk.  Ask any 1084 owner
  167. (like me).  Commodore eventually dropped Magnavox as their manufacturer
  168. and went back to whoever made their original Amiga monitors (Phillips, maybe?).

  193.    My 680x0 assembler is a little rusty, but I'll give it a shot anyway...

  195.    The pound sign moves immediate data into a register.  If you're trying to
  196. put the address of init into A0, the command would be 'move.l  init, A0'.
  197. If you want to move the contents of the location pointed to by init, then
  198. you'd do a 'move.l   (init), A0'.  I think that's right.
  199.    So the only reason your line doesn't work is that it (the compiler) is
  200. expecting immediate data (a number) where you have a symbol.

  222. Hmmmm.  A question for the closet legal-eagles among us: What becomes of
  223. copyrighted software published by a magazine which goes belly-up?  If ST-Log
  224. is dead, does that do anything at all to the distribution restrictions placed
  225. on their software (assuming there were any restrictions - never did buy an
  226. ST-Log w/disk)?  Alternatively, I wonder if the people at ST-Log (or Flynt
  227. Publishers) would/could allow the software (such as the above screen saver)
  228. to be released here?  Anyone who keeps in touch with Lee Pappas wanna ask?
